As states and districts consider how best to educate students this fall, it is critical to understand how the pandemic-induced school closures affected students’ engagement with online learning resources intended to compensate for lost time in school. One way to do that is by using high frequency, nationally representative Google search data. These data allow us to document in real time how parents and students sought out online resources as schools closed in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
