The pursuit of viable solutions is especially urgent now, following challenges exacerbated by the pandemic. In 2021-22, only 51% of students tested as grade-level proficient. If the state is to succeed in raising academic outcomes like grade-level proficiency, it will require making big gains for historically disadvantaged students.
