Chrissy Teigen is thrilled to be expecting her third child, but says this pregnancy has made her anxious. Now, the cookbook author and mama is on bedrest for a couple of weeks.
This week, she tweeted that she is on official bedrest for the time being: "I'm on official 2 week bed rest :( I'm taking this time to learn how to sew capes and kid clothes..."
This comes after Teigen showed the world how she's advocating for herself and monitoring her health during her pregnancy by posting a video of her ultrasound.
She explained she's been feeling a lot of anxiety during this pregnancy and called her doctor as she was concerned about "any little bits of spotting or pain."
Teigen's third pregnancy has been a different experience for her, as (unlike her pregnancies with Miles and Luna) it was a surprise and didn't happen thanks to IVF.
The surprise factor meant Teigen ended up having surgery to remove her breast implants early in her pregnancy. She didn't even know she was pregnant yet.
"I did the routine pregnancy test you do before surgery. It said negative. It was not negative," the soon-to-be mother of three explained. "A few weeks after surgery, I took a test. And for many years now, I've taken pregnancy tests almost every month, praying to see a positive one day. Just wishful thinking. I never had a positive before."
Teigen has been busy homeschooling her children and now plans to use her 2-week bedrest to do some crafts for the kids, which is a good thing because she recently told Marie Claire her therapist has suggested she cut back on social media during this pregnancy as conspiracy theorists have been trolling her hard.
Since Teigen already experienced postpartum depression during a previous pregnancy, we totally support her doing whatever she needs to do to protect her mental health now, even if that means we get fewer tweets and Instagram stories. She'll likely post whatever crafts she makes from bed, though. We can't wait to see what she comes up with!
