Funny Picture Books

Funny picture books are like the dessert at the end of a meal for my family. I incorporate picture books into my children’s homeschool education almost daily. We use them to study history, science, different cultures, literary devices, and even math. I tend to spend about 30 minutes reading 3 to 5 picture books every morning to my kids currently aged 5 to 11. The last book is always just for fun and something that hopefully my kids will think is hilarious. This practice of ending with humor has become our tradition. I am always on the lookout for new funny picture books to delight my kids.

Funny Picture Books for the Whole Family

This ever-growing list contains picture books that were found comical by everyone in my family from the preschooler up to the middle schooler. Because of this, I think they tend to skew a little bit on the older side as my younger children find hilarious what my older kids think is funny even if they don’t fully understand what is going on. On the other hand, even my oldest still finds classic potty humor amusing from time to time. For the most part, though, I have enjoyed the books that made it on this list as much as my kids.

Click on each book cover for a full review. If there is anything that parents might find inappropriate or mildly offensive, I tried to note this in my comments. I hope your family enjoys these hysterical picture books as much as we do!
