Elements of Art and Principles of Design - Mini Books (Substitute Lesson)

Hey, Blogging Friends! Well, I unexpectedly had to miss 3 days of school last week. Long story which we will blog on later. It was midterms during Quarter 1 and Progress Reports were due. I thought what lesson could I leave where the kids are actively engaged and learning. So, I opted for a 1 day lesson on mini book making. I teach on a Block Schedule with A and B Days. So this was one of the lessons. The other lesson was a "Catch Up Day" On this day...I post the Ketch Up Bottle and they all know what that means! I found it online years ago, so I don't even know who to give the credit too. In this packet that I bought from Teachers Pay Teachers the students were able to revisit the Elements of Art and Principles of Design as they worked on the project in class while collaborating with one another.
Below is the information that is listed on Teachers Pay Teachers:

Description

The elements and principles are easy to teach with these printable mini-books for note-taking. A PowerPoint is provided that introduces each element and principle and allows the student to draw, color, and/or write pertinent information in their books. These books are great to use as a reference tool in the students' future art projects and discussions.

Great beginning lesson for every art class!

The books are made with envelopes for storage. 2 PPT slide shows that correspond with the mini books are included.
