Teacher Appreciation Week deals and freebies – thank you, educators!

Teacher Appreciation Day is Tuesday, May 3, 2022 — but it’s Teacher Appreciation all week long, from Monday, May 2nd to Friday, May 6th.

As always, retailers and restaurants are offering special deals and freebies to educators. We’ve compiled a list below, and invite you to click thru the links for details.

Note that some of these teacher discounts are valid all year round, while others are for one day or one week only.

And remember, participation can vary by location with chains and franchises. It’s always good to verify the deal is on before you head out to dine or shop.

2022 Teacher Appreciation Deals

The list is mostly in alphabetical order — not separated out by product type.

Apple

Apple offers Apple education pricing on a new Mac or iPad to teachers, school staff, and homeschool teachers of all grade levels — also to college students and their parents. Prices vary, but amount to roughly 10% OFF.

Barnes & Noble

When educators sign up for the B&N Educator program, they get 20% off publisher’s list price on all purchases for classroom use. In addition, they get 25% off the publisher’s list price during the B&N Educator Appreciation Days. More info here.

Buffalo Wild Wings

From May 2nd to 6th, 2022, Buffalo Wild Wings is offering a 20% discount for teachers and school staff, available for dine-in or in-store pickup only. Teachers and staff need to show a valid school ID. More info here.

Burger King

This offer is open to everyone, not just teachers. Join the Royal Perks rewards program and you’ll get FREE fries (any size) with any purchase, once a week for the rest of the year.

Cheap Caribbean

The travel site Cheap Caribbean offers an exclusive Hero Discount for teachers, healthcare workers, first responders, and members of the military. Teachers can enjoy $150 off their next vacation package with a special promo code. (The discount is valid on package bookings of 5 or more nights.) This deal isn’t limited just to Teacher Appreciation Week, so bookmark the site if you think you might use the deal later.)

Cole Haan

Teachers and students can get 20% OFF online at Cole Haan. Just register with a valid school e-mail address. The retailer sells shoes, handbags, and leather accessories.

Costco

Teachers who buy a Costco membership receive a free $20 Costco shop card.

National optical retailer Eyemart Express is recognizing all teachers with 20% off on all prescription eyewear, along with 2,000 frames, lens upgrades and accessories. The offer is also extended to school administrators and school district employees, including janitors, counselors, and bus drivers. Simply present a valid school ID badge to take advantage of these savings. Eyemart Express offers this discount all year.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

From May 2nd to May 6th, 2022, teachers get a FREE single-topping mini-sundae at Freddy’s. No other purchase is required.

The cookie chain and its sister brand, Marble Slab Creamery, are offering a treat to teachers and nurses. From May 2 through May 6, 2022, teachers and nurses can get a free Original Chocolate Chip Cookie with any purchase.
At Marble Slab Creamery, the offer is for a buy one, get one free small ice cream.

Both offers require customers to show valid identification and are in-store only. At co-branded Great American Cookies and Marble Slab Creamery locations, just one freebie must be selected.

Lenovo Computers

Teachers and college students can get up to an extra 10% OFF on Lenovo products, via the website. Click thru for the fine print.

Michaels

Teachers get a 15% discount at Michaels online and in-store. Bring an educator ID to shop in person, or verify your educator status through the Rewards Program.

National Education Association

Members of the National Education Association enjoy lots of ongoing deals and discounts. The member benefits are wide-ranging, from discounted vacations to credit cards with lots of rewards.

OfficeMax / Office Depot

From May 2nd to 6th, 2022, teachers with an Office Depot / OfficeMax rewards membership can get 20% back in Bonus Rewards on a qualifying in-store purchase, and 20% off a qualifying regularly-priced purchase. Must present a valid teacher ID and use these coupons at checkout.

Samsung

Teachers and educators can save up to 30% off on laptops, tablets, smartphones, and more when shopping on Samsung.com, thru the Samsung Education Offers Program.

Sonic

Teachers plus school faculty and staff are all eligible for a FREE cheeseburger with purchase. To get the offer, educators need to enroll in the SONIC Teachers’ Circle, an awards program exclusively available for educators — you can sign up through the Sonic mobile app.

Staples

Teachers can visit Staples from May 1st to 7th, 2022, and get a FREE teacher gift box — which includes Sharpie highlighters, glue sticks, stickers, thank you cards, and more.

Subway

Teachers and everyone else can take advantage of Subway’s latest special. From April 26 to May 21, the sub shop is offering a buy-one-get-one FREE Footlong special online.

Zaxby’s

On May 3rd, 2022, Zaxby’s has a deal that lines up with Nurses Appreciation Week and Teachers Appreciation Week, but it’s also available to the general public. Buy one Boneless Wings Meal and get one FREE.
