At the beginning of each month I've been participating in a "Currently" link-up hosted at Overflowing With Thankfulness. Our hostess Jennifer posts a set of action verb prompts for the month and writers respond. So, without further ado, here are this month's prompts and what's happening currently . . .

Anticipating - upcoming family visits! My parents are coming for a visit and will be here in just over a week. We haven't seen them for over three years, mostly because of travel restrictions. We are anticipating a wonderful reunion with them and my adult kids are really looking forward to it. My mom and dad will get to meet their new great-granddaughter here, and we are planning a trip to see our oldest son and his family too.
This is the last time we were all together, at our daughter's high school graduation. We've added a daughter-in-law and another granddaughter since then!

And the newest member of the family, our granddaughter born in August.
Admiring - I've been taking special notice of how great my kids are lately. These young men and women are generous, hardworking, talented, and trustworthy. They show wonderful leadership skills and use their gifts and talents to honor God and serve others. Two of my sons are dads, and they are so good at it! My two daughters-in-law are wonderful devoted mothers. We are so blessed to have such a beautiful family that enjoys being together.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things. ~Philippians 4:8
Spending/Consuming - We just spent a bit of money on a new pull-out sofa for the recently renovated downstairs rooms. There's still some work to finish up down there, but at least we have the makings of a decent guestroom/study. Um, and I don't have a photo of it. Probably because it's currently being used as a guest bedroom by our son and his wife. They're spending a couple of days here because we're taking care of the baby during the first weeks momma has gone back to work.
We'll be spending a bit of extra money of groceries this week, getting ready for our big Canadian Thanksgiving party on Saturday, at which we will be consuming some delicious food! And then I think we will focus on consuming what we already have in our freezers and pantry rather than buy more food!

Wanting - my husband to find a great new job very soon, and ideally one that won't require us to move. And that's a tall order, so I'll be happy if it's a move that's not terribly far from here, and with a move timeline that won't stress us out. I feel that a move is more or less inevitable, so I'm telling myself it will be okay, and reminding myself that God is a faithful provider and he has good things in store for us. Because ultimately, we want to go wherever he leads us.
Purging - Since there's such a high likelihood that we'll have to move, I suppose the stuff-purging project at our house will be kicking into high gear again! We purged a lot when our basement flooded just over a year ago, and it was kind of forced on us. We purged some more at the beginning of this year when we thought we'd probably have to move for a new job. Then he got a job here and we relaxed on the purge project. Now we're job hunting and back to purging! I think that even if we don't need to move right away, we'd better continue getting rid of things we don't need, and make it more of a lifestyle. Why should we be weighed down by things that we don't need, especially if someone else does need those things?
