I knew it was coming up, but I was still surprised when the "Currently" link-up with Anne in Residence popped up on my bloggy calendar today. Anne posts five action verb prompts for the month and writers respond. Let's see what I can come up with!
***********
Traveling - Right at the moment, traveling nowhere. Around the main floor of the house and that's it. That will be for another week and a half, and then I'll probably be able to go back to most of my normal daily travels between home and work and church. At the end of the month my husband and I are planning to travel to see our oldest son and his family though.
Been traveling using the walker so much that I actually developed blisters. Yeah. Fun times.
(Yes, I need to explain - last Currently I was expecting to have my knee replacement in the middle of June, but it was pushed back to June 30th, so right now I am in recovery mode)
Missing - the freedom to go do what I want to do, when I want to do it. Don't get me wrong, I'm being treated like a queen by my family and they are doing such a good job looking after me, Also I have friends coming over to visit and keep me company when all the family is at work. I am happy and blessed! But I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss being able to get in the car and zip off to the grocery store or coffee shop if I felt like it.
Enjoying - putting my feet up, not having to do household chores, just relaxing with no to-do list, and receiving visits and meals from loved ones.
Realizing - how much energy it takes just to read, type, go about some of the little daily tasks. I expected to do a lot of reading while I was recuperating, but it turns out I've only read a couple of chapters. A friend of mine told me that she and her husband had both been surprised by that during recent recuperations they had been through. I guess reading requires just a bit more focus and concentration than playing games on a kindle.
Hoping - that the rest of the recovery isn't too awful. I'm doing really well now and progressing in my healing, but there's a lot of rehab work and exercising still ahead, and I will need to push through.
