108 Of The Best Parenting Tweets Of The Month (April)

Parenthood is basically a life-long course in crisis management. You learn to deal with stormy tantrums and find the answers for every if and but. And no, they don't give a BA or MA just 'cause you’re good at it.

But it all pays off! You see, kids are full of things we no longer have as grown-ups. It’s brutal honesty and out-of-the-box ideas that turn them into little crazy geniuses. Luckily, these moms and dads have documented the zippy life of raising a kid and shared it on Twitter. Bored Panda has collected the best parenting tweets of April for some much-needed entertainment, which, I can’t say, was spoiling us in this last month. Psst! An extra batch with 30 parenting tweets from March is waiting here.

The lockdown has put virtually every parent with a kid under stress. Juggling work, homeschooling the kids, and the domestic life can be seriously draining. Laura Markham, the author of "Peaceful Parents, Happy Kids," in an article for Psychology Today, urges parents not to forget nurturing and replenishing themselves.

Laura suggests working “an hour of 'me time' for everyone into your family routine so you can sit and get centered with no one touching you.” In order to reduce anxiety, use schedules and stick to daily routines. “The human mind likes to know what to expect. Otherwise, it gets more anxious,” explains Laura. Plus, if you’re feeling drained, don’t forget to get that extra hour of sleep, which boosts your immune system and recharges you for the next day.

Most importantly, every parent should remember that kids are watching how you’re handling this pandemic and learning a whole lot from it. The parenting expert suggests “letting go of your perfectionism and try to be more flexible, which is a hallmark of resilience.” And every time you feel like panicking, ask yourself if you really need to. “When you feel overwhelmed, remind yourself to take things one day at a time,” writes Laura.
